Tito Trujillo — the Miracle Continues...
On Friday nights at Unidos, a three-month drug rehab program Tito completed in 2003, you either attended the Bible study or turned the TV off and went to your room. On one of these Friday nights, Tito decided to “just waste some time” at the Bible study rather than the alternative. One of the men from a local church who came to share the Gospel with the program participants asked, “Do you guys have Bibles?” He then took a Bible, opened it, and slid it (with purpose) straight across the table to Tito. When it came to rest directly in front of him, he could only stare in bewilderment as he read the bold letters on the page. The Spanish title read, “TITO.” Now, that's pretty amazing. A complete stranger who doesn't know you from Adam walks in, randomly opens a Bible to a page with your name for its title, and out of all the people in the room, shoves it in front of your face. Tito thought it was pretty amazing, too. God had gotten his attention. “I took that as a calling,” he says. Tito then sought out the man (Henry) at the local church and a mentoring relationship developed. It wasn't long before Tito accepted Jesus as his Lord and began a new life of purpose. But, as it is for all of us, God had more in store for him.
Over a period of about two years, Tito and Amanda came to believe that God had brought them together to be husband and wife. On April 21, 2007, Tito's 32nd birthday, he got the best present ever when he exchanged wedding vows with Amanda. And, of course, that made the Complete Stranger his father-in-law! Tito and Amanda now share the parenting responsibilities over Tito's son, Brian, now three. They have a desire to expand their family and have more children. Amanda, who aspires to become a beautician, can't wait to have a daughter to practice on. The Lord has provided abundantly for them with a very nice Laguna Niguel condominium, although they want to move closer to their church so they can be more involved in outreach. Tito works as a mechanic and is seeking God for his future career direction. Tito and Amanda have all the earmarks of a “successful” family. They are both well connected with family and church fellowship, have gainful employment, are responsible parents and, most of all, realize that God is their ultimate source. *** This just in, June 19, 2007: Amanda is pregnant! ***
